We read everything that arrives here. PacVivo is a small project, so a message that says which tool you were using and what you expected gets a useful answer fastest.
Since PacVivo is a running pace and race-time calculator, most of what arrives concerns checking what a 10K time predicts for a half — and the occasional result that seems off. Either is welcome here.
Where to write
The address to use is support@pacvivo.com; we generally reply within one or two business days.
What to tell us
- A link to the page, or the name of the calculator you used.
- Your inputs, which for this tool means your recent race time and distance; exactness is not needed.
- The output you received against the output you expected.
- Device and browser, for anything that looked wrong on screen.
Messages about converting a treadmill pace to a race split are common here, and a short description of your case is usually enough for a useful reply.
When a number looks off
Because the rule behind PacVivo is written down rather than hidden — it predicts using the Riegel formula, where the predicted time scales as the ratio of the distances raised to the power 1.06, which is why an equivalent performance at twice the distance is a little slower than twice the time — a wrong answer is diagnosable rather than mysterious. Tell us the inputs and the value you expected, and we will track down which side slipped.
