Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This is the privacy notice for pacvivo.com, operated by PacVivo ("we", "us"). It covers the information we deal with and the options open to you. Briefly: your recent race time and distance are computed locally and never leave your machine.

Which tool this covers

The tool this page covers is PacVivo, a running pace and race-time calculator. Put simply, it converts between pace, distance and finish time and predicts marathon, half-marathon, 10K and 5K times from a recent race, and the way it does so is this: it predicts using the Riegel formula, where the predicted time scales as the ratio of the distances raised to the power 1.06, which is why an equivalent performance at twice the distance is a little slower than twice the time. Everything stated here applies to that tool and the values it handles, and to nothing else.

In day-to-day use the tool works only from your recent race time and distance, and it is usually opened for things like setting a target pace for a marathon. None of that reaches us, so none of it can be stored.

What you enter

On pacvivo.com the computation never leaves the browser. PacVivo reads your input in the page itself, produces the result there, and sends nothing over the network — which is also why the tool goes on working if you disconnect after loading it.

Your input and what happens to it

Every value you type is handled by the page itself. Once you close it there is no record of what you entered, because none was created.

Retention and security

Because your inputs are never transmitted, there is no store of personal measurements to retain or protect. Standard security practice applies to the site itself, including HTTPS on every page.

Under-13 users

The site is not designed for, or marketed to, children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Your privacy rights

Wherever you are, you can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or erased, and object to how it is used. Given how little PacVivo collects, the answer will usually be short, but the right stands.

When this policy is revised

We may update this page as the site changes. Material changes are reflected in the "last updated" date above.

Technical data gathered automatically

Our host and any analytics we run record routine request data — the kind every web server sees, such as IP address, user agent, referrer and which pages were opened. That data serves maintenance and abuse prevention; it is never combined with the values you enter.

Cookies and advertising

Advertising keeps the site free and is delivered by external networks, which may use cookies or similar technologies to show interest-based ads. Google, as one such partner, lets you opt out through its ad settings. Turning cookies off does not break anything here.

How we measure usage

Analytics on pacvivo.com are limited to counting: visits, a rough location and which tools are opened. The figures are aggregated rather than tied to a person, and none of them carries what you typed.
